Congratulations to Daiwas Davie McAuley for winning the first ever Ayrstrike competition and picking up £3000 in the process.

Davie landed 5.680kg of mainly Carp and Tench to take the title, lifting £3000, 8kg of Dynamite Baits and the coveted Trophy. The Ayrstrike competition which was organised by SFCA chariman Gus Brindle has been a tremendous success, in this first year alone 73 anglers particiapated purchasing 215 tickets competing in 16 qualifiers within a manic 10 week period. Davies winning catch:

In second place was Mark Lyons who landed 5.380kg which included the biggest fish of the day - a 2.7kg Tench - to take home the £225 heaviest fish prize, 8kg of Dynamite Baits and £80 in pools money.

Completing the top three was Monklands member Ian Whitson with 2.660kg to take home 8kg of Dynamite Baits and £54 in pools money.

Monklands member Eric Morris was also taking part and landed 2.020kg for 5th place overall.

Club member Ewan came very close to being the first ever qualifier with a net of skimmers on a hard day at Magiscroft. Congratualtions to Davie Corcoran and good luck in the final.

Venue: Broom F1 Pond

Club member Davie came close on a very difficult day at Broom. Horrendous conditions made things difficult, but Davie stormed into an early lead only to see the fish settle in front of Stuart. Congratulations to Stuart and good luck in the final.

Everyone blanked!! George Glen was drawn from the hat to progress to the final.

Congratulations to Davie for qualifying in a very hard match where everyone had to scratch for ounces. Davie fished the feeder to take a couple of small carp before switching to the pole and landing several small Perch. His biggest fish was taken on his very last cast. James fished pole for most of the day for bits but lacked those bonus fish needed to take the win.
