Monklands anglers were in action yet again on the banks of Loch Ken, this time in the annual three day Jacks competition. the match was held on the West Bank and Glenlggon on the 7th, 8th and 9th of March.

This competition is now based on total weight over the three days, for the first time it was to be an open draw each day - previous years had seen anglers drawing for different sections each day.

There is a strong field in this match, most competitors use the match as a warm up for the bigger Easter festival which attracts some of the best tip anglers in the North West of England and Scotland.

This year there were 5 Monklands members competing:

  • Ian Whitson

  • Darrin Ferguson

  • Ewan Weed

  • David Anderson

  • Mike Shaw

Monklands anglers showed their knowledge of the water and ability to take the top 4 places overall and also finish in the daily money.
