The first round of the SFCA team championships was fished at Broom fishery on Sunday 17th April.The match was fished on Bruce's Acre and Queensberry.

Teamwise, it was the currently hot team of Monklands B (Alex Napier, Simon Murray, Dougie Garmory and Davie McGregor winning the day followed one point behind by Monklands A (Ewan Weed, Stephen McCaveny, Darrin Ferguson and Ian Whitson). Monklands A actually tied for 2nd place on points with Orchill Central, but just shaded it on total weight.

Individually, Simon Murray and Alex Napier incredibly tied with a weight of 39lb 9oz from Queensberry and Bruce's Acre respectively. Even more incredible was the fact that they were both on golden pegs.

Ewan Weed was 3rd with 29lb 8oz from Bruce's Acre with Stephen McAveney a mere 2oz behind in 4th from Queenberry.
